While the more arrogant individual (Zahn) has been convicted, I'm convinced there are others who remain in the shadows that contributed to the facilitation of this crime, including the last mayoral administration, prior JEA board members, FPL, Matrix LLC consulting and maybe even the Gov. administration. Will we ever know the entire truth?

Will the citizens of Jacksonville ever know the truth behind the JEA secret curtain. If we follow the individuals who were in line to receive the “pot of gold at the end of the JEA rainbow” , it most likely would reveal the guilty wizards. If only we could click our ruby slippers and reveal the answers to so many questions. Thank you for continuing to “wake up” the citizens by sharing the truth.

Thank you Sherry. This saga should be a wake up call for all city Boards, and even though they are volunteer they are so important to a functioning government.

I recently watched and couldn’t help comparing two City Board meetings. One gave me a confidence that the Board members had done the homework on the items, had the deep knowledge and probed deeply on the staff recommendation, exposing some revealing assumptions of the proposal, came up with a reasonable solution and showed they took their responsibilities very seriously. In the other, a staff recommendation about a critical upcoming decision was presented, and while one board member talked in depth about it and asked the fellow board members to discuss and consider it, it was disheartening to see how few board members asked probing questions or provided meaningful contributions. Perhaps they will for the vote. I surely hope so.

Yesterday's First Coast Connect listener call-in with the Mayor was quite interesting. A fellow (seemingly known as one who frequently speaks up) asked the Mayor about what she was doing about the lack of attention on the city Core and why was it that nothing ever seemed to change.

The Mayor launched into a response about the physical realm and infrastructure and the promising new improvements coming in the near future - with a comment about always being concerned about the city's Core.

That's when the caller essentially said - no not that Core - I'm asking about the Core of leadership - the ones that never change and never do anything - why can't something be done about changing them?

The Mayor's answer was diplomatic, of course, and was aimed at instilling faith with the Mayor's office and team.

It was refreshing that almost every caller, even the one who claimed a "different party", all honored and thanked the Mayor for the great good job she was doing.

What a deal for Zahn and the other JEA executives the ‘incentive payment would have been. At its core, Zahn and his executives wanted you to pay them to worsen your financial position.
