Let me get this straight: the city has an expanse of land on the river. And it has sat uninspired for a long time. I seemed to have lost the thread of “ let’s make it a green space, family friendly…”. Prime space for our city & river & people!!
Actually, for the most part, both banks of the river are in a flood plain. All you need to do is look up the latest Union of Concerned Scientists report covered by channel 4 regarding Jacksonville and NOAA's latest advice on flooding. Yet development continues apace on both sides of the river. Thanks for listing contact information though. It's going to come in handy going forward. In the long run though, the complexion of power in this city has to change.
Lot 2 is located in the flood plain. Even if the building is elevated, why would someone purchase a residence in a flood plain, when everything around the bldg will be surrounded by water when flooding occurs, and rising waters are increasingly common. The only advantage I can see to living above flood waters is that one could cast a fishing line from one’s terrace.
